Scope of work: Overall Creative Direction, Client communications, Interior design concept creation & client presentation creation
This was an envisioning design package that we designed for Starbuck’s work space in Atlanta. The guiding principles for this project were to create a space that was flexible to their ever-growing team, encouraged their culture of communal experiences via “accidental” collisions and lastly the design encouraged by their core product, the coffee.
Our strategy is to bring the common spaces to the center of gravity, where employees can gather and socialize. Putting the semi-private meeting spaces in between creates a transition from the private work spaces to public spaces.
Design Concept
We started with the idea of the different roasts of coffee beans, then translating that into different spacial experiences throughout their office that ties together with our strategy. Blond roast indicated communal spaces like lounge areas and pantries with bright design accents, to medium roast spaces with textures and colors that encourage collaboration and meetings, and finally to the dark roast spaces that encourage individual working experiences.
Branding is a huge aspect of this office design. We incorporated artwork from the client and incorporated it into their interconnecting stair to provide a sense of brand identity and to create a transition from the two floors.
